This summer, student Amena Akter worked in the Reilly lab through the High School Catalyst and Bioforce Programs. Her project was dedicated to investigating the upstream kinases responsible for activation of lipid-droplet STAT3. Her research and poster presentation earned her first place at the Catalyst final presentation event. 

Amena Akter also presented her work at the NYCSRM Consortium on August 10, hosted at the American Museum of Natural History. 

The Reilly Lab joined the Weill Center for Metabolic Health and Center for Precision Nutrition and Health at the Ithaca, Cornell Campus for an Intercampus Symposium. Running over two days, this symposium explored the recent research surrounding metabolic health being undertaken at the NYC and Ithaca Cornell campuses.

Dr Reilly and Dr Bridge-Comer attended the 2023 Keystone Adipose Tissue: Energizing Good Fat conference in Keystone, Colorado, with members of the Teruel lab. Dr Reilly presented a talk on her research on adipocyte-secreted IL-6 and its interaction with IL-4 and macrophages.
