Jason Szoja is an aspiring biomedical engineer and future cardiologist. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from Rutgers University. Jason presented his award-winning senior design project, the Dynamic Pericardiocentesis Model, at the 2025 Surgeons and Engineers Conference.
He previously worked as a Clinical Care Technician at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital on the Post Cardiothoracic Surgery Unit, and currently works at Bristol-Myers Squibb Children’s Hospital as a Pediatric Care Technician.
With a career vision that unites engineering innovation and medical practice, Jason seeks to advance cardiovascular health through both biomedical research and surgical care. His ultimate goal is to integrate his engineering background with clinical expertise as a cardiologist, developing new approaches to diagnosis, treatment, and device-based interventions that improve patient outcomes.
